Free safety Earl Thomas had himself a day Sunday in the Seattle Seahawks’ 41-38 win over the Houston Texans but exited the game in the fourth quarter with a leg injury.

“I pulled my hamstring, so we’ll see,” Thomas told reporters in the locker room after the game. “Hopefully I can get back out there as soon as possible.”

Thomas said he tried to return to finish the day, but the Seahawks training staff wasn’t going to risk its star safety.

Coach Pete Carroll confirmed Thomas’ injury Monday morning during his interview with 710 ESPN Seattle’s “Brock and Salk.”

“He does have a slight pull and we’ve got to see what that means,” Carroll explained. “He’s going to deny that’s it’s a problem just like he did, he wanted to go back in and we gotta steal his helmet. I’m really glad that he didn’t fight it, he knew, he wanted to.”

Carroll said Bradley McDougald will step up if Thomas is unable to go this Sunday.

While the defense did give up 38 points to the Texans, the Legion of Boom logged three interceptions on the day to win the turnover battle.

Thomas picked off rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson in the first quarter and ran it back 78 yards for the touchdown, proving why he deserves his All-Pro title.
